Headquartered in Hamilton, Scotland Probe Test Solutions (PTSL) is a global high growth electronics manufacturing and engineering business. Over the last ten years the business has grown significantly and can proudly boast a world class international customer base with operations in the USA, UK and Asia. After a significant multi-million pound investment late 2022 to drive new product development and substantial growth in people and operations, the business now wants to invest in the key hire of Head of Human Resources.
Reporting into the CEO, the Head of Human Resources will become a key part of the company senior leadership team. Building on an already solid people foundation and highly engaged culture, you will be responsible for taking this to the next level internationally. This role is both strategic and hands-on in nature, you will have responsibility for the full employee life-cycle including recruitment, selection, appraisal, rewards and recognition, team development and training, and understanding and implementing country specific employment legislation and welfare. Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and support the deployment of standardised processes (including tools and templates) globally across the business.
- Ensure rigorous performance management and proactive succession planning for all key positions.
- Plan actively to meet the long-term people needs of the Company, with specific talent management focus on relevant key positions and functional requirements.
- Develop Company career paths as the basis for progression and succession processes that make the most of the available talent to the benefit of all parties.
- Support the management team proactively to build the bench strength of the team and accelerate the internal talent pipeline through L+D and succession planning.
- Be responsible for diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Work closely with the leadership team to deliver key strategic people KPI’s.
- Manage the annual pay and incentive reviews.
- Support the CEO to manage and administer the reward and recognition programs.
- Ensure employee relations are managed in accordance with specific country employment law to ensure fair and ethical approaches for employees.
- Be recognised as a leader in all aspects of ethics for the company and help shape the processes and practices globally in this regard.
You are educated to degree calibre in a business related discipline (HR preferred) and ideally a chartered member of the CIPD. This role will suit highly experienced modern HR Leaders who have worked in truly people centric businesses and enjoy success through people. Whilst we will consider candidates from a range of industry sectors, we would be especially keen to hear from candidates who have worked in manufacturing, engineering or FMCG type businesses. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a capability to manage the HR function internationally, show how they have grown culture and led the strategic development of the HR function whilst ensuring the day job is done.

From our HQ in Hamilton, we provide our global customers with an ever-growing variety of high-tech test hardware. We design and manufacture our products with our highly skilled workforce who are all keenly focused on Quality, Cost and Delivery.
We are seeking candidates who have previous assembly experience within the electronics industry, specifically within PCB component assembly environment. You must be able to follow detailed work instructions and have strong attention to detail. The role involves working in a busy manufacturing environment where teamwork and manual dexterity are key. We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable staff who can be flexible and adapt to many different job functions.
37.5 hours a week
Back shift Monday to Friday 14:00-22:00 with 10% shift allowance

The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the drawing of ATE hardware and managing design guidelines. There will be an opportunity to be involved in both production and R&D projects. Having an understanding of the following would be helpful:
- Autodesk Inventor Software (Solidworks experience also considered)
- Probe Hardware Design
- Probe Hardware Manufacture
- Electronics circuits
The successful candidate will have the responsibility for coordinating projects through design phase, liaising with our PCB Design Team. They will monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders, helping to assure the overall quality and integrity of the hardware. It’s likely the role will involve the need to work closely with many different departments, including Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement as well as often liaising directly with the customer. With PTSL’s global customer base, this role may involve international travel and flexibility around early morning and evening work is required. We currently run dayshift and backshift teams in operations to support our global customer base.
What you'll need to succeed
A successful candidate would ideally have an understanding of Manufacturing of Electronics and Mechanical Hardware – ideally ATE. Previous Mechanical Design experience is essential, as is experience in project / time management. The ability to communicate well with stakeholders, suppliers, internal departments and colleagues will be a major factor in this role.
